Introduction I have previously written about what it is that moves us humans. Within philosophy, there are multiple answers to this question. In that earlier writing, I argued that the movements within man can broadly be divided into higher and lower ones. On the higher side, we find our capacity for sacrifice, truth, love, self-giving, and virtue. On the lower side, we find animalistic desires and the various vices which arise when our desires become disordered as a consequence of original sin. Ideology (noun): a system of ideas and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy. The problem Since the rise of modern self-help culture, fiction is often looked down upon. It’s frequently seen as a waste of time, as lacking practical value, or as something purely meant for entertainment. I personally believe that this is wrong, and that fiction is highly beneficial.
